‘THANK YOU’ TO GENESIS ORWELL MENCAP DURING VISIT TO RANSOMES JACOBSEN

A party of managers and team members from Genesis Garden Furniture, part of the Genesis Orwell Mencap organisation, visited Ransomes Jacobsen recently to receive a personal thank you from Managing Director David Withers, in recognition of their contribution supplying bespoke wooden furniture for the company’s three-hole golf course. Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company.

Genesis Garden Furniture is well known in the Ipswich area as a producer of hardwood garden furniture of the highest quality, supplying Ipswich Borough Council with numerous benches and other park furniture. They also supply high profile individuals such as Griff Rhys-Jones and Richard Curtis, both local celebrities.



Commenting at the recent visit David Withers said,
“We are near neighbours of Genesis Orwell Mencap and have worked with them previously when they produced some wooden safety tools for us. When we were looking for hardwood furniture for the decked area that overlooks our three-hole golf course, we asked if they could help. They came back with a bespoke design for tables with integral benches and we were delighted to place an order with them.”

After touring the factory to see how modern commercial mowing equipment is manufactured, the 12-strong team enjoyed a buffet lunch with members of Ransomes Jacobsen’s management team, sitting at the tables they had manufactured 18 months earlier.

“We were delighted when we were approached by Ransomes Jacobsen to produce this furniture. It was a direct result of our earlier involvement making the safety equipment. Their continued support provides yet another opportunity for the team here to gain work experience and add further life skills. which is a valuable grounding as we prepare those who are able to move on into paid employment.”
